- 18 years of combined experience in the design, equipment manufacturing, construction, operations and maintenance of combustion turbine power plants. 8 years of experience as a plant construction Project Engineer and operations and maintenance Plant Leader. Extensive experience with the design, maintenance and testing of motor control centers, medium voltage switchgear, generator circuit breakers, transformers, batteries and chargers, static excitation systems, generator protection systems, isolated phase bus duct and low voltage unit substations.
- A power industry professional with over 30 years of power industry experience with a focus on power plant operational and project safety. The past five years have been spent providing safety oversight of contractors at power plant outages. Strong understanding of industry rules and standards thru various industry specific training certifications. Knowledge and experience have proved successful at maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
- A multi-functional individual with 5 years of supervisory and management experience in the power industry. Experience brings detailed system and component knowledge with significant execution and project management experience of Conventional and Combustion Turbines, Balance of Plant equipment, Solar, Wind, Geothermal, and Hydroelectric systems and components. Worked on over $150 million in projects in the last 5 years. Commitment to safety, environmentalism, and quality.
- Over thirty years of experience in maintenance, operations and outage management of fossil, combined cycle and alternative fuel power plants. The past 10 years supervising various turbine outages and shop surveillance.
- Thirty plus years of experience in startup and commissioning, operating and maintaining gas turbines, biomass facilities and oil fired power plants, with extensive management, supervision and troubleshooting experience from contract award to final completion. Also have performed multiple operations and due diligence audits.
- Six years as a General Electric gas turbine and generator field engineer followed by three years as an independent outage specialist on various gas turbine and generators. Great attention to detail and understanding of the importance of quality checks.
Our Consultants
Point Power, Inc. was founded by Brad Agers in 2011 to provide specialty personnel to various power plants to support outage and commission activities. Brad manages all aspects of the business while continuing to work at customer locations as an outage supervisor for turbine and generator overhauls. His recent jobs include a GE 7FA major with bigfoot mod, GE steam turbine minor with generator re-wind, Mitsubishi steam turbine major with generator re-wedge, Westinghouse 501D combustor inspection with generator major, two Westinghouse 501D Majors with HGP upgrades, three 7FA Majors with .04 HGP upgrades and compressor enhancements.
Prior to founding Point Power, Inc, Brad worked as a Maintenance Manager for Florida Power and Light and a Field Engineer for General Electric Company.
Brad received his degree from Georgia Tech with a Bachelor of Industrial and Systems Engineering with Co-op Certificate. He went on to attend GE Power Systems University in Schenectady, New York where he obtained Gas Turbine Mechanical, Mark V Controls, and Six Sigma Greenbelt certifications.
